Currently the various LTC directors and the State Board of Education are proposing that
Technology Plans be peer reviewed face to face locally at an LTC location. This means that all
technology plans submitted in Area One (Lake, Kane, DuPage, Suburban Cook, Will, Kendall and Grundy
Counties) will be reviewed in Area One. Once again, the process for an LTC director to facilitate Peer Review sessions comprised of three trained Peer Reviewers will be put into place.
The process for gaining approval for your district's technology plan is similar to what it was
in the past. Districts submit the required documents (via iirc ePlan website), ISBE assigns them to
a team of peer reviewers headed by an LTC facilitator, and the plan either passes, or is sent back
to the district for corrections. Peer Reviewers will follow a rubric created to evaluate district
technology plans.
Training for new Peer Reviewers will be held
locally, click on FAQ for Peer Review in the section below. Peer Review Training, as well as, the Peer Review sessions will be provided and organized by the Area One LTC directors. Plans are still due on March 1, 2011, the review process will commence in March, 2011. See further information below.
